51st FESTIVAL “THE DAYS OF MOKRANJAC” SEPTEMBER 9th- 14th 2016
Considering the duration and value of the Festival “The Days of Mokranjac”, its programme concept will keep the conceptual framework of the manifestation with primary mission to promote the work of the most significant Serbian composer Stevan Stojanovic Mokranjac and to affirm his and Serbian music creativity in general, with emphasis on fostering of choral tradition. Festival will also keep the practice of opening towards other areas of artistic expression and encourage traditional events related to art, literature and theatre, which contributes to the attractiveness of the program. At the same time, there is an obligation to change the ways of fulfilling the basic goal following the changes and news in terms of media and technology…
The program concept of the festival will maintain the basic elements: singing competition, concert of the choir – singing competition winner, guest performance of the (musical) theatres (musical and other genres), chamber and symphonic concert (with compulsory execution of works of Serbian composers), guest appearance of a prominent choral ensemble, as well as artists and ensembles from abroad, performance of folklore groups, classical music at 11 o’clock. In additional programmes there will be artistic, literary and scientific debate (dedicated to creativity of Mokranjac), as well as promotions of important publications….
